Pochampally Ikat Silk Sarees

Pochampally Ikat Silk Sarees come from the Telangana state of India. Ikat is a type of weaving wherein the warp, weft or both are tie-dyed before weaving to create designs. There are two types of Ikats - Single Ikat, where the warp is tie-dyed and interwoven with weft that is single colored or uncolored and Double Ikat where the warp and weft are both tie-dyed. The designs used are geometric patterns, peacocks, elephants, dancing girls and flowers.
